Isabelle Caron

Ms. Isabelle Caron, President and CEO of Biologics Manufacturing Centre (BMC) Inc. is a dynamic and influential figure in Canada’s life sciences sector. Under her leadership, this non-profit organization works to strengthen national bioproduction capacity while stimulating the growth and resilience of this vital industry.

With a degree in Applied Microbiology from INRS – Armand-Frappier Santé Biotechnologie (2001), Ms. Caron has over 24 years of experience in managing manufacturing operations. She has demonstrated her transformational leadership skills and leveraged her expertise within renowned organizations such as Labopharm, Bioxalis Medica, Laboratoires Confab, and more recently, Medicago.

At the helm of the BMC, Ms. Caron leads the implementation of this manufacturing organization with a unique business model in Canada. Her innovative vision and bold business strategy ensure not only the creation of value but also the achievement of operational excellence while remaining faithful to the public mission of the company.
A fervent advocate for workforce and employment development in Quebec’s pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector, Ms. Caron also demonstrates her commitment to this cause through her position on the board of directors of Pharmabio Développement.

Her career path is marked by impressive achievements, such as the conversion of R&D spending into profit centers, the development of standardized development programs and the negotiation of strategic alliances.

In 2024, Isabelle Caron has been appointed as co-chair of the Life Sciences Strategy Council. She is now closely involved with the key challenges facing the life sciences sector, allowing her to directly contribute to shaping the strategies and policies that will influence the industry’s future. In the same year, her exceptional contributions were recognized with the INRS Foundation’s Light Award in the « Radiance » category. This award highlights her unwavering commitment to stimulating growth, fostering innovation, and making significant contributions to the economic, social, and cultural development of Quebec.
