Catalina Soare

Director of Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT)

Catalina Soare is Director of Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) at the Biologics Manufacturing Centre (BMC)Inc., where she provides end to end technical oversight of GMP manufacturing operations, process lifecycle management, and technology transfer. She leads cross functional teams to ensure robust, scalable, and compliant processes from development through commercial production.

Catalina has over 15 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, with expertise in CMC process development, technical operations, and CDMO oversight. She has a strong track record in optimizing upstream and downstream processes, improving bulk drug substance yield, and ensuring cGMP compliance across clinical and commercial manufacturing.

Prior to joining the BMC, she served as Vice President of Preclinical, Translational and CMC Development at VBI Vaccines, where she led preclinical programs and CMC strategies supporting product advancement. Catalina is recognized for her leadership in technology transfer, regulatory readiness, and operational excellence, and for her ability to translate complex scientific innovation into robust manufacturing platforms.

She holds a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Ottawa, Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, and a Bachelor of Biology from the University of Bucharest.
